From "Car Talk's" Facebook page.
During my sermon yesterday I asked how many people had seen the movie "Chariots of Fire" and three hands went up. Three! Then I realized the movie came out before most of them were born (1981).
Heavy sigh.
I told Pam when she came in from work tonight (while I'm fixing dinner) that I'm going to get an apron with frills around the bodice.
I've got a stubborn problem with the VW. The generator light comes on and stays on. I put in a new voltage regulator and I tried running a new wire, so I "know" neither of those is the problem. And I get the proper voltage readings at the battery. I called Steve, the guy who built my engine, and we agreed the best thing is for me to drive it down there so he can take a look.
The Denver/Patriots game was almost dull. The Seahawks/Niners game made up for it and then some. I liked the outcome, but I'm not very optimistic about the Hawks' chances in the Super Bowl. I suspect one team's QB will be deer-in-the-headlights dumb struck. No criticism, just what's to be expected.
I worked on the taxes some this afternoon, getting the numbers together for the CPA. We make a little extra principle payment on our mortgage each month, but with that included we paid more in principle than in interest. The tipping point. I made some mental calculations and we'll have the house paid off in 2076. Wanna come to our mortgage burning party?
I have a cold. It's been years, and this one is making up for lost time. My sinuses weigh 40 pounds and I keep getting liquid surprises on my upper lip. Gross.
And aren't you glad I shared?
I'm going to heat up some coffee. And maybe some bacon. That'll make it all better.
