"I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it." - Pablo Picasso
Today's Yahoo crossword puzzle, 64 Across:
"_____ sanction." Five letters.
The word was inner.
And at least one person needs to brush up on their cultural idioms.
I sometimes read the BBC site for news from a different perspective. I find it interesting the stories they choose to cover and what they have to say. A surprising number of them involve events here, but the spelling can sure be different.
Cardinals win, Seahawks lose. That puts the Cards on top of the NFC West. Crazy, especially when they've had to play all three of their QB's due to injuries, and are missing their best defensive players for the same reason.
(I don't think the Cards are the best team in the division. I'm not sure they're the second best.)
Each night's evening news makes those who said we should leave troops in Iraq look more prescient. And the President's insistence that we completely leave that country look naive.
I don't care if it's Apple or SnapChat, you gotta be naive and worse to post nude pics of yourself online and think it won't come back to bite you.
C'mon, folks. It's the internet, for Pete's sake. Look at that word.
Never mind the moral problems with the activity.
We get a break on our health insurance through Pam's job if we go for a health screening, and mine is scheduled for tomorrow morning. It takes all of 15 minutes and involves answering some questions, getting a BP check, a weigh-in, and a blood draw. In six weeks or so I'll get a form in the mail with the results. For this we get a discount of several hundred dollars over the course of a year.
I'm not sure why. I suppose it could uncover some unknown problem so that early intervention would save the insurance company some money, but I'm guessing almost everyone gets told what they already know:
Lose weight, get more exercise, lower your cholesterol....
If it's like last year's screening they'll say I'm in great health and should keep doing what I'm doing. I will, D.V. And I'm more than happy to give them their 15 minutes for the substantial savings.
It's Sunday evening. Football and/or 60 Minutes. After that it doesn't really matter because I'll be nearing zombie land anyway.
I'll be back tomorrow. Promise.
