"Don't worry about your heart. It will last as long as you live." - W.C. Fields

My goodness. The last three days have been as busy and pressing as any three I can recall. So this will be a brief summary, and I'll try to do better in the days ahead. That should be possible given that one of the biggest things on the agenda is pretty much wrapped up.

THE HOUSE IS SOLD! Less that three days after listing we'd had about 20 people go through it and rec'd four offers. The best of those was cash, and $3k over our asking price. (Pam said that last night there were still people slowing as they drive by to write down the name of our realtor.)
Because of dr. appointments we don't want to leave until 10/15, and while the buyers want to close a couple of weeks earlier than that they're fine with us living in the house that long for the rental price of...wait for it...$1 per day.
We are very, very pleased with the job our realtor did at building the hype before it went on the market and then managing the offers. But mostly we recognize that this is a great blessing from God that makes our transition to OR a lot easier for the financial breathing room it gives us.

So, yesterday was a flurry of exchanges via email and Facebook messenger as Pam, our realtor, and I worked through the deals and details.

See, I paid Verizon a (relatively small) amount so I would have cell phone service down here but they goofed something up and I have NONE. When I try to get ahold of them to resolve it their web site gives me a number to call. When I tried their online chat I was sent a text message with a PIN I had to enter before I could do that. I CAN'T GET TEXT MESSAGES!! My phone doesn't work.
We tried every angle we could think of, incl. Pam calling Verizon from home, but all without success. So we're talking via Facebook. Not the same.

Costa Rica is beautiful, the people warm and gracious, the coffee wonderful, and the food delicious. Last night was the first session of the first seminar and I'm exhausted from the effort. Alonso did a great job of translating, talking over me when he could and allowing me to talk over him, so as to increase efficiency. The people, at least by their faces, seemed fully engaged, and we laughed together as this gringo tried to use his very limited Spanish from time to time.

I had asked Alonso to be 100% candid with me afterward so I can make any adjustments that will help, so I'm curious to hear what he has to say when we meet this morning. The second of three sessions tonight, and the third tomorrow night. Preach Sunday morning and then individual classes M and T evening.
Maybe a nap this afternoon.
Maybe a nap now.
