"Dogs can't operate an MRI machine but cats can." - unknown
Buddy ate his p.m. meal today, the first food he's shown any interest in for two days. And the Pepto Bismol tablets seem to have done the trick. I mixed some yogurt into his dry dog food so the probiotics can get his gut going again. He's still acting "off," with none of his typical energy and enthusiasm, but I'm hoping some nutrition will turn that around.
The church offices are closed on Friday so it has become my day off. I spent almost all day outdoors working on various tasks, from trimming out windows, digging a short ditch, turning the compost pile and...going for a run.
I ran Wednesday and today. The last time I ran before this was last September when I had to stop because of a pretty major back issue. I've decided to pay less attention to the distance and work on my pace instead. I want to run briskly (for a guy who's 68) and will only bump up the distance when I can do it at that pace. It's too easy to fall into a plodding pace that I suspect isn't as effective for maintaining fitness. I want to run, not jog.
Two and a half more days and I get my staples out! Woot.
Numbers were down at last week's class because many of the regulars were rehearsing with the choir or the band for the Easter service. The previous Sunday was the men's retreat and the Sunday before that was the women's retreat. So three weeks in a row I've had about half the normal number.
Tomorrow is the Eugene marathon and the course goes right by the H.S. where we meet. The street will be shut down and access to the parking lot blocked as a result. And several people in the class are running or supporting family members who are.
Phooey.
I need to spend more time with my message for the chapel service at the state pen Sunday evening. Because it fits with what I'm preaching on I listened to Mozart's Mass in C Minor. The Credo is a favorite.
Credo in unum Deum, Patrem omnipotentum, factorem celli et terra, visibilium et invisibilium.
It lacks punch without WAM's power-punch music.
Here.
